Fushimi is famous for Sake because of the clear spring water
from a mountain in Fushimi.
Excellent water is necessary to make a good
Sake so the culture of Sake developed in Fushimi.

There are many points of interest in Fushimi
such as the Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine,
Sake breweries, Fushimi-Momoyama castle,
Lake Biwa canal, Jounangu shrine and etc.

Important temples and shrines that are being restored by master restorationists.

Byoudouin-hououdou, Katsura-rikyu, Gosho, Choi-in, Nina-ji, Daigo-ji, etc.
These are some of the temples and shrines
that is restored by the professional restorationists
who have repaired numerous cultural treasures.
The doors of Shitomi-do alone was restored by more than 10
craftsmen in a period of over 4 years.

Additionally, Byoudouin-hououdou was restored over the course of 10 years.

Due to the technique and the years of work by each craftsmen,
the cultural properties of this beautiful timber of Japan,
are preserved and inherited by the same restoration method as in the Edo period.
This is the difference between the “Western Stone Culture”
and the “Japanese Tree Culture”.
The shrine temple tour with the Master Restorer,
includes the tour of the restoration site which is currently being done.
It is a fun tour that will AMAZE you and leave you dumbfounded!

This Zen temple overcame the political and social turmoil
and was reconstructed by a tea master named Urakusai Oda.
This historical temple has been preserved since then.
The temple also inherited and preserved
the Urakusai tea ceremony which is now called the Samurai Tea Ceremony.
You can experience Zen and the Samurai Tea Ceremony
in a cozy and serene environment leaving the hustle and bustle behind.
